The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation has embarked on constructing the Blue Line extension that will connect the city center directly to Kempegowda International Airport. Spanning 38 km with 17 stations, including transit hubs and parking facilities, the line will reduce commute times by over an hour, greatly easing urban traffic congestion. The project also incorporates green infrastructure: solar panels on station roofs, regenerative braking trains, and landscaping along the corridor. Expected to open in 2027, this ₹15,000 crore initiative aligns with India’s National Infrastructure Pipeline and promises to transform Bangalore’s public transit network.
